Vice President for Inclusive Excellence Announcement

To the Campus Community:

Following the completion of a comprehensive review, I have appointed Dr. Tacquice Wiggan Davis vice president for inclusive excellence, effective immediately. I am especially grateful to her for filling this role on an interim basis since the departure of James A. Felton III last July.

The positive feedback provided through the review, which included stakeholders from across our community — students, staff, faculty, deans, and board members — was universal. In Tacquice we have a consummate professional who possesses the experience and temperament to lead her division at an especially crucial time. I couldn’t agree more with that assessment and look forward to her guidance as we seek to understand and navigate a changing federal regulatory environment.

Since joining TCNJ in September 2021 as assistant vice president for inclusive excellence, she has been instrumental in the success of her division. Tacquice was a key contributor to the development of “We Are TCNJ: A Strategy in Inclusive Excellence.” When the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) faced staffing shortages, she became a certified specialist and managed a caseload of students. She has developed a comprehensive program dedicated to supporting first-generation students through co-curricular engagement, academic enrichment, and community-building efforts, among many other accomplishments.

Prior to TCNJ, Tacquice spent 10 years at Western Carolina University, where she worked in the Office of Student Leadership and as the associate director for the intercultural affairs department. She earned a bachelor’s in psychology with a minor in women’s studies and African American history from Ramapo College, a master’s in behavioral sciences from Kean University, and an Ed.D. in educational leadership from Western Carolina University.

Please join me in congratulating Tacquice and thanking her for the critical work she does for our college.

Warmly,

Michael Bernstein
