To the Campus Community:
The college cabinet is closely following announced changes in policy coming from the federal government, especially those related to immigration, funding for government grants and loans, and general policies potentially affecting higher education institutions in both the public and the private sector.
We deeply appreciate that, at present, there is a great deal of confusion about the impacts policy changes may have on our college and community. It is essential, in this circumstance, that all of us communicate openly and directly about our questions, concerns, and needs. Students should contact the Dean of Students. Staff and faculty colleagues should speak with their direct supervisors or relevant cabinet officer.
Several community members have also raised questions about the possible presence of federal officers arriving on campus (and/or engaging with community members off the campus). In any and all circumstances that college students or employees are approached by federal officials, we encourage you to direct these visitors immediately to the Office of the General Counsel (207 Green Hall). Should an official seek to present any of you with a formal document – such as a subpoena – please keep in mind that the General Counsel is the only entity on campus authorized to accept such materials. After business hours, any officials should be directed to the Campus Police (in the Administrative Services Building).
It is in challenging times like these that our community principles and values are put to the test. Indeed, it is the enduring commitment to our mission and our community standards that exemplifies TCNJ at its best. With any and all concerns you may have, remember to reach out to those around you (peers, staff, faculty, and administrators), all of whom stand ready (both formally and personally) to be of assistance.
Warmly,

Michael A. Bernstein
President
